VW Camper Van - Interior Restoration Project

• The design for this 19" split screen camper van, was to keep as much of the original furniture as possible. Replacing damaged units and updating the interior look with a modern laminate and trim.
• The original furniture that was taken from the camper van before the restoration.
• More of the original furniture that was taken from the camper van before the restoration.
• Before - The original wardrobe was covered with a maple effect laminate, with the original trim, lock and hinges re-used.
• After - Showing the refurbished cupboard fitted into its final position, also showing the jump seat and the port-a-potty seat.
• Before - Storage unit under the main seat was damaged on the surface.
• After - Storage repaired with new laminated surface and all damaged plywood carcase replaced with new. Original trims, locks and hinges were re-used.
• Useful storage compartments contained with in the camper door. All the original components were used and re laminated. New table tops were made from birch plywood and laminated both sides and finished in a 2 mm cream P.V.C T-bar trim.
• Glimpses through the rear of the camper van showing the storage unit at the back of the wardrobe, with the original door trim, hinges and lock being re-used.
• Finishes and Materials All vertical surfaces were covered in a natural bamboo laminate. All the work surfaces were finished in classic boomerang, with the edges trimmed with a 2mm P.V.C T-bar in cream. Repairs to the old plywood were made with a moisture resistant Ply.
